I was an AI skeptic. Like a respectable engineer who spent decades practicing the craft, I laughed at vibe coders, prompt engineers, Cursor, Claude, and the entire wave of AI “hype”. I waited for it to pass. But I was wrong. AI fundamentally changed our profession forever. This talk reviews the key practices of professional AI-first software engineers: prompt/context engineering, MCP tools, agentic design and orchestration, AI SecOps and architecture observability. This is not a hype talk, nor a doom talk - it's a field report from the middle of the shift already happening around us. The game is changing.
